Great Wisdom Buddhist Institute (GWBI) has received official notice from the Island Regulatory & Appeals Commission (IRAC) that an investigation has begun into our land holdings on Prince Edward Island.

GWBI was drawn to the Island by its peace and tranquility and the religious freedom guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. PEI is the perfect setting for our studies. We appreciate the kindness of our neighbours and enjoy the pace of life here in Prince Edward Island.

We welcome this investigation and will participate willingly. We agree with Premier Lantz that it is time to resolve this matter once and for all. The unfounded allegations that have been circulating are a distraction from our studies and impede our ability to contribute to the Island as we had hoped. We have engaged legal counsel on the Island and given instruction to answer any questions the government may have about our land holdings so that this can be resolved in a timely way.

Since this matter is now officially under investigation, we will have no further comment.
